Recently, Jiangsu Broadcasting Cable Information Network Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “Jiangsu Cable”) launched a procurement project for mini TV boxes, and Fujian Newland Communication S&T Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “Newland Communication”) being the exclusive winner. This marks China’s first bulk procurement tender for mini TV boxes, signaling the official start of pilot promotion and large-scale deployment.
In 2024, under the guidance of the National Radio and Television Administration(NRTA) and Jiangsu Provincial Radio and Television Bureau, Jiangsu Cable took the initiative to pilot and commercially deploy mini TV boxes in cable TV networks. With support from China Broadnet, the Academy of Broadcasting Science of NRTA, and the Academy of Broadcasting Planning of NRTA, Jiangsu Cable actively participated in industry standard development, completed prototype R&D, technical verification, and user testing, laying a solid foundation for large-scale deployment. Under the guidance of NRTA, Newland Communication relies on keen market insight, profound technology expertise and forward-looking innovation to develop a groundbreaking product–the mini TV box.
The winning tender is not only a key milestone in the collaboration between Newland Communication and Jiangsu Cable, but also represents Jiangsu Cable's high recognition of Newland Communication's comprehensive strength, technical level and service quality.
Moving forward, Newland Communication will continue to leverage its strengths to empower customers, working closely with Jiangsu Cable to accelerate the large-scale deployment and commercialization of mini TV boxes. The effort aligns with the NRTA’s initiative to simplify TV operation complexity, addressing user frustrations over “difficult and cumbersome TV viewing experiences”.
